About the GHS Writing Club
The GHS Writing Club is an extracurricular group for high school students created for the purpose of allowing them to find the time outside of school and homework to write. Most kids don't get a lot of creative writing practice, so this is a way for them to express their creativity, improve their writing abilities, and just have fun writing for themselves. We meet on Tuesdays from 3:00-4:00pm in either Room 217 or 164.
Each week there is a new writing prompt/activity with a weekly tip or trick and a book recommendation. After each meeting, the prompt, tip, and recommendation will be added to the site. Writers can submit pieces to be edited and possibly published on the site. Monthly competitions will be issued school-wide at the beginning of the month, and the winner and runner-up will be chosen at the end of the month and will then have their pieces featured on the site.
