Today you see it lying a few feet away, screaming and asking you to run. You got this! To get caught up, here are the writing tips that we've had on the slides in the past week:

Your stuff starts out just for you, but then it goes out. Today we worked on October submissions again, while also writing with some pretty fun ideas of things to do!
Jot down the names of people you would love to invite to a dinner party. You can write an invitation or turn this into a story of your own. A man runs up to you on the street and shoves a small box into your hand. He stops, stares at you with terror, and whispers, “Guard this with your life.” Go forth and create, fellow writers! Here's the spam of posts from the last bunch of writing club meetings, sorry for not keeping it updated!
Alright, so today we did some more prompts (I know, surprising right?), and worked on our October Competition submissions. As you’re paying for your groceries, you mention to the clerk that there’s a mess in aisle 16. He looks at you, puzzled, and says, “there is no aisle 16.” I remember the last spring… it was 18 years ago. A friendly pranking rivalry between two colleagues in an office starts to get serious… Have fun writing everyone! We found some fun, unique writing prompts here at Reedsy
"Do you have a moment?" asks the stranger who was reading beside you on the park bench. Your friend is visiting your home for the first time. You go to the kitchen to grab coffee and when you return, your friend tells you they just met your sister. You're an only child and you live alone. Safe writing, all! Today, we grouped together and wrote stories based upon the following writing prompts:
A character whose job is to clean up people's imaginations. A team of scientists have successfully teleported an apple. When it reappears, there is a bite take out of it. You're scrolling through the pictures on your phone. There's a new one: it's a photo of you sleeping. Happy writing, all! This week there were two writing prompts:
Residents staying at a hotel are forced to realize that a murderer is in their midst, all while a hurricane is heading their way and they have no way to escape. And the second was just taking a bunch of pictures with a title and short description and writing a short story off of it. So, basically, find any interesting picture, and use that as a prompt to inspire a story. Go wild and have fun, writers! |
Writing Prompts as well as Tips and TricksThis page is for writing prompts that have been used in meetings, or prompts that might not get to be used in a meeting, but that are still great ideas. A lot of writing tips from the group will be posted here too. |
